Part V Conjugating Future Conditional Tenses in Spanish Sign up successful By now, you have come a long way. Remember, this learning is best taught chronologically, so  before you tackle this post you should review  the previous posts: How to conjugate basic Spanish verbs  (present tense) How to conjugate stem-changing verbs in present tense How to conjugate Spanish verbs in past tense How to conjugate the imperfect tense This particular post is about the future tense and the conditional tense  in Spanish. The conditional tense describes what you would like to do given certain conditions, and the future tense describes events that will happen in the future. For example, the following sentences would use the conditional tense: I would go to the game. (Iría al partido) They would see the movie. (Verían la película) Alternately, these sentences would use the future tense: I will go to the game. (Iré al partido) They will see the movie. (Verán la película) Identical to others tenses, the Spanish conditional and future tenses break down verbs into five different ending variants. By now you have probably mastered how it works. All we need to do now is learn another new formula. The conditional tense is strikingly  similar to the imperfect. The key difference is that in the conditional tense, we don’t shave off the -ar, -ir, or -er verb ending first    but the conjugation ending is the same! As we have used the example of the verb mirar (to watch) in the previous articles, lets continue with that. How to Conjugate  -ar Verbs in Conditional Tense DON’T shave off the ending -ar; leave it alone! If you are referring to ‘yo’ or ‘I,’ add the ending ‘ía’ to end the infinitive verb, forming miraría. If you are referring to ‘tú’ or ‘you,’ add the ending ‘ía,’ to form mirarías. If you are referring to ‘él’ or ‘ella” or ‘he or she,’ use the ending ‘ía’ to form miraría*. *Yes this is the same as the ‘yo’ form, just like the imperfect! If you are referring to ‘nosotros’ or ‘we,’ use the ending ‘íamos’ to form miraríamos. If you are referring to ‘ellos’ or ‘they,’ use the ending ‘ían,’ to form mirarían. What about -er verbs? Let’s use comer (to eat) as an example again: How to  Conjugate  -er Verbs in Conditional Tense DON’T shave off the ending  -er Same as -ar  verbs to form comería. Conjugate the following conditional tense Spanish words: Moving on, the future tense does have many irregulars but in this post I just wanted to you get the basic idea. The future tense is similar to the conditional in that you add the ending to the given verb in its infinitive form. How Much Do You Know About How Your Voice Works Suzy S. Here on the TakeLessons  Blog, we talk a lot about singing tips and tricks for making your voice shine. And as youre learning how to sing especially if youre working with a voice teacher youve probably already learned how things like posture and breathing can affect your  voice. But how much do you actually know about how your instrument works?  Understanding how your voice works is a big key to singing well, yet many vocalists never take the time to study it. We recently connected with Elissa  over at Voice Body Connection, who has been working on an online course designed to help you learn just that. Still not convinced? Heres how Elissa explains it: We start using our voice mere moments after we’re born. But here’s the thing… no one sits us down and hands us an instruction manual. There’s no explanation about how we should make sound, we just do it! A couple years from now we’ll start learning speech and language, and all that will include much more explanation. However it’s likely going to be years before we start any sort of vocal or singing lessons which will draw our attention to the quality of our sound (if ever, of course!). By that time we’ll have some pretty well engrained patterns and habits. So here’s the problem with never having learned how our voice works: When something goes wrong with it, we don’t know how to fix it. If no one taught us how we produce sound in the first place, it’s very difficult to troubleshoot when we’re not able to make the sounds we want. We’ve got to understand what’s going on. We think of our voice as something intangible. In fact we often use the word “voice” metaphorically. That way of thinking is lovely, but our voice is also something very concrete. It comes out of our body, and there are significant muscles and cartilage and bones and organs that contribute to our ability to make sound. It’s valuable to know what all of these are, which is why we go over them in our Spotlight on Anatomy blogs and in Vibrant Voice Technique training. Think about it this way: if you’re a real car person, you’ve gotta learn what’s under the hood. It would be silly to grab a wrench and start messing around if you’ve done no research about how the car is put together…you might mess something up! By a similar token, we all know it’s foolish to start IKEA furniture together without following the (inscrutable) instructions. It’s useful to spend the time understanding how things work. These options tend to get better and better as they’re updated. Saving Your DataSo you’ve finally created your first Excel documents to get your accounts in order. Great!  Imagine if you woke up the next day and found that your documents, holiday photos, PowerPoint presentations, and your programmes were all gone! It can happen...If you have data worth saving, you need to make sure that it's securely saved. (Source: pixabay.com)You don’t need to learn how to programme in order to back up your documents.There are two main ways to back up your documents and data:Online: you can save your data to a secure server (o ften referred to as “the cloud”). Web hosts often do this for their customers’ websites.On an external device: you can save your data to an external hard drive or USB key. You should ideally do this once a week or, at the very least, once a month.Backing up regularly is a good practice and you should often go through both your internal hard drive and your backups. The two techniques as described before can be used in tandem to ensure that your data is safe and sound. There’s nothing wrong with storing your backups on two different external hard drive if the data’s really important.There are a number of cloud storage solutions available for free where you’ll get a couple of gigabytes (you can upgrade and pay for more storage). Make Your Own Website!You don’t need to be a web designer to make a website.  There are plenty of sites that can help you do it quic kly and easily. You can buy and modify pre-built websites before publishing them on platforms such as WordPress.If you want to make a website, you should study HTML and CSS. What is IT Security?When you learn about IT, you’ll learn that securing the wealth of information transferred over networks is imperative. In some cases, losing data can cost companies thousands.Some of the world’s best hackers are even working for government agencies and multinationals in order to help secure their data from the threat of piracy or theft.At the very least, you should make sure that you have antivirus software and a firewall. Additionally, tutorials on IT security wouldn’t hurt.10.
